Kedrion Fibrin Glue

Kedrion Fibrin Glue (also referred to as Kedrion Fibrin Sealant) is a plasma-derived biologic hemostatic agent developed by Kedrion S.p.A. It consists of two primary active ingredients: human fibrinogen and human thrombin. When applied topically to a surgical site, these components replicate the final step of the physiological coagulation cascade, where thrombin converts fibrinogen into an insoluble fibrin mesh. This process forms a stable, biodegradable clot that achieves hemostasis and provides tissue sealing. The drug has been evaluated in a multicenter Phase III clinical trial in Italy as an adjuvant hemostatic agent for pediatric patients undergoing abdominal or orthopedic surgery to manage surgical bleeding.
