Kegan Liyan granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, including influenza, acute pharyngitis, and COVID-19. The formulation is composed of 14 herbal ingredients, including Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle), Scutellaria baicalensis (scutellaria), Nepeta tenuifolia, Gardenia jasminoides, Forsythia suspensa, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Bombyx batryticatus, Rehmannia glutinosa, Belamcanda chinensis, Platycodon grandiflorus, Mentha haplocalyx, Cicadae periostracum, Saposhnikovia divaricate, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It functions by clearing heat, resolving dampness, dispersing wind, and relieving sore throat and cough. The formulation has been evaluated in clinical trials for pediatric and adult COVID-19, influenza, and acute pharyngitis.
