Keli-med

Keli-med is a topical scar treatment cream developed and marketed by Permamed. It is formulated with a synergistic combination of active ingredients designed to promote optimal scar healing, prevent hypertrophic scar and keloid formation, and protect healing tissue from ultraviolet radiation. The active components include onion extract (Allii cepae extractum), which inhibits fibroblast function and exerts fibrinolytic effects; hyoscyamus oil macerate (henbane oil), traditionally used to soothe and treat scars; allantoin, which promotes tissue hydration and regeneration; and heparin sodium, which provides antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties while facilitating tissue resorption. Additionally, Keli-med contains the UV-A filter avobenzone and the UV-B filter enzacamene to protect melanin-deficient scar tissue from sun damage. It is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids resulting from surgeries, skin transplants, burns, and other injuries.
