Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kelocote (also known as KELO-COTE) is a silicone-based scar treatment gel designed to improve the appearance of scars. It's clinically proven to help soften, flatten, and reduce the redness of both new and existing scars up to 4 years old. Its main ingredients are polysiloxanes (a form of silicone) and silicon dioxide. When applied, Kelocote forms a flexible, waterproof, transparent layer over the scar that helps soften and flatten raised scars, reduce redness and discoloration, relieve itching and discomfort, and protect the scar from bacterial invasion. It has been clinically proven to improve the appearance of existing hypertrophic and keloid scars in approximately 82% of patients and help prevent abnormal scarring in up to 67% of surgery patients after four months of twice-daily treatment.
