Keltic Development FFA4 activator

Keltic Pharma Therapeutics (formerly Keltic Development) is developing a small-molecule activator targeting the free fatty acid receptor 4 (FFA4, also known as GPR120) for the treatment of severe asthma, chronic asthma, and inflammatory airway diseases. Originating as a spin-out from the University of Glasgow, the company utilizes its proprietary PEPSMOL drug discovery platform to identify candidates that aim to normalize lung function and reduce inflammation. FFA4 activation has been validated as a novel mechanism in inflammatory lung disease, where it modulates inflammatory pathways to improve airway function. The program is currently in the preclinical development phase, with the lead candidate intended for inhaled administration.
