Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Keming Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Jinan Kangzhong Pharmaceutical Technology Development for the treatment of post-infectious cough (PIC). It is specifically formulated for patients exhibiting the TCM pattern of "yang deficiency and cold invading lung" (阳虚寒袭肺证). The therapeutic rationale involves warming the lungs and dispersing cold to alleviate persistent coughing following a respiratory infection. As of 2024, the drug is in Phase III clinical development in China, evaluated in a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (CTR20240031) to assess its efficacy and safety, with the primary endpoint being the cough resolution rate measured by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).
