Kendall Antifungal

Kendall Antifungal is an over-the-counter topical antifungal cream containing 2% miconazole nitrate, an imidazole-class small-molecule azole antifungal developed originally by Janssen that is widely used for superficial dermatophyte and yeast infections. It acts by inhibiting fungal CYP450 14α-lanosterol demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis and membrane integrity, which leads to leakage of intracellular contents and fungal cell death or growth inhibition. Clinically, the product is indicated for treatment of tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm), providing symptomatic relief of itching, scaling, cracking, burning, and associated irritation when applied topically to affected skin.
