Keralac Nailstik

Keralac Nailstik is a topical keratolytic solution containing 50% urea, primarily used for the treatment of hyperkeratotic skin conditions and nail disorders. Developed by Pharmaderm (a division of Sandoz), the product functions as a potent humectant and keratolytic agent. Urea works by increasing the water-binding capacity of the stratum corneum and solubilizing or denaturing proteins such as keratin, which softens dry, thick, or damaged skin and nail tissue. This process facilitates the shedding of dead skin cells and the non-surgical debridement or removal of devitalized or dystrophic nails. It is indicated for conditions including psoriasis, eczema, xerosis, ichthyosis, and corns, and is typically applied twice daily to the affected areas using a specialized applicator.
