Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Keratosept is an ophthalmic solution developed by Visum Pharm, primarily indicated for the protection and repair of the corneal epithelium. The formulation is a combination of three active components: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), and chlorhexidine digluconate. HPMC serves as a mucomimetic lubricant that stabilizes the tear film and increases the contact time of the solution with the ocular surface, providing relief from dryness and irritation. Cyanocobalamin supports the metabolic processes of corneal cells, facilitating re-epithelialization and tissue regeneration following injury or surgery. Chlorhexidine digluconate provides a broad-spectrum antiseptic effect, preventing secondary bacterial infections during the healing process. Keratosept is commonly used for corneal abrasions, keratitis, post-operative recovery, and conditions requiring corneal protection and hydration.
