Overview
KEROL Emulsion is a topical dermatological product containing 50% urea, a potent keratolytic agent. Developed by PharmaDerm (a division of Nycomed US, later acquired by Sandoz), it is specifically formulated for the debridement and promotion of normal healing of hyperkeratotic surface lesions. The emulsion works by gently dissolving the intercellular matrix and increasing skin moisture through the softening and dissolution of keratin, which allows dead skin cells to shed more easily. It is indicated for the treatment of rough or dry skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and keratosis, as well as for softening damaged or dystrophic fingernails and toenails. Launched in 2008, it serves both the dermatology and podiatry markets.
