Ketadex

Ketadex is an investigational intranasal drug formulation combining two active ingredients: ketamine, a non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, and dexmedetomidine, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Developed by Monash Medical Centre (Monash Health / Monash University), Ketadex is designed to provide sedation, anxiolysis, and analgesia while minimizing the side effects associated with each individual agent (such as ketamine-induced emergence phenomena or dexmedetomidine-induced bradycardia and hypotension). It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial in healthy adult volunteers to assess its sedative, anxiolytic, analgesic, safety, cognitive, driving, and pharmacokinetic profiles across low-, medium-, and high-dose regimens.
