Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketan mixture (Ketan heji) is a traditional Yi ethnic medicine marketed in China for the treatment of colds, bronchitis, coughs, and excessive phlegm. It is formulated as an oral liquid mixture containing five active herbal ingredients: Plantago asiatica (Asiatic plantain), Senecio scandens (climbing groundsel), Pericarpium Papaveris (poppy shell), Platycodon grandiflorus (platycodon root), and Taraxacum mongolicum (dandelion). The mixture provides antitussive, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory effects without containing ethanol, making it safer for co-administration with other drugs. It is distributed by C&O Pharmaceutical Technology (a subsidiary of Shionogi) and manufactured by Yunnan Jinke Pharmaceutical.
