Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Keteiling is a Chinese patent medicine (CPM) combination product indicated for the treatment of cough and bronchitis. It typically consists of an extract from the roots of *Ilex asprella* (Rough-leaved Holly) and the small molecule antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate. The formulation leverages the traditional anti-inflammatory and antitussive properties of the herbal extract alongside the H1 receptor antagonistic activity of chlorpheniramine to suppress the cough reflex and reduce respiratory tract irritation. Developed and manufactured by Jilin Province Oriental Pharmaceutical, it is approved in China and commonly administered orally in capsule form for the relief of symptoms associated with chronic and acute bronchitis.
