Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketelin (咳特灵) is a traditional Chinese medicine-based combination product widely used for the relief of cough and asthma. It typically consists of an extract from *Andrographis paniculata* (containing active andrographolides) and the first-generation antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate. The andrographis component provides anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antitussive effects, while chlorpheniramine maleate acts as a histamine H1 receptor antagonist to reduce allergic symptoms and suppress the cough reflex. It is marketed as an over-the-counter (OTC) medication in China, primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic bronchitis and associated respiratory symptoms.
