Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Keto SZ is a medicated, sulfate-free, and paraben-free topical hair wash (shampoo) developed by Med Manor Organics. It is formulated with a combination of two active antifungal agents: ketoconazole (2% w/v) and zinc pyrithione (1% w/v). Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis and compromising fungal cell membrane integrity. Zinc pyrithione is a coordination complex with antibacterial and antifungal properties that acts as an ionophore, increasing intracellular copper levels to inactivate iron-sulfur cluster-containing proteins and disrupt fungal metabolism. Keto SZ is primarily indicated for the treatment of fungal skin and scalp conditions, including dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and pityriasis versicolor.
