Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketonate is a topical combination cream developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics. It contains three active ingredients: beclomethasone dipropionate (a synthetic corticosteroid), ketoconazole (a broad-spectrum antifungal), and neomycin (an aminoglycoside antibiotic). Ketonate is indicated for the topical management of mixed bacterial and fungal skin infections accompanied by inflammation, redness, and itching, such as infected eczema, dermatitis, athlete's foot, ringworm, and jock itch. The corticosteroid component reduces inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, the antifungal component disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis, and the antibiotic component inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial ribosomes.
