ketoprofen + fluconazole

Ketoprofen + fluconazole is a combination of two small molecule drugs, each with distinct mechanisms of action. Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as an analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory agent by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in pain, fever, and inflammation. This combination may be used when both antifungal therapy and NSAID effects are required; however, co-administration can lead to pharmacokinetic interactions—fluconazole can decrease the metabolism of ketoprofen via CYP inhibition, potentially increasing ketoprofen plasma levels and risk of adverse effects such as hyperkalemia or gastrointestinal toxicity[1][2][6].
