ketorolac

Ketorolac is a potent, short-term nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used primarily for the management of moderate to severe acute pain, often as an alternative or adjunct to opioid analgesics. It is a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor that reduces prostaglandin synthesis, resulting in analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. Ketorolac is available in several formulations including oral tablets, intramuscular and intravenous injections, nasal spray, and ophthalmic solutions. Its onset of action is rapid (within 30–60 minutes), with peak effect at 1–2 hours and duration up to 6–8 hours. The recommended treatment duration does not exceed five days due to risk of serious adverse effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding and renal impairment[1][2][4][5].
