Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Olap-KT is an ophthalmic combination of ketorolac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and olopatadine, a second-generation antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. Developed by Jainson Biotech, it is formulated as an eye drop and is approved in India for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. Olopatadine acts as a selective antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor and stabilizes mast cells to prevent the release of inflammatory mediators, while ketorolac non-selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby alleviating ocular itching, redness, swelling, and pain.
