Overview

This drug is a fixed-dose **combination medication** containing three active ingredients: - **Ketorolac:** a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by non-selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain, inflammation, and fever[1][3][5][7]. - **Pitofenone:** a direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant structurally related to papaverine; it reduces spasms in smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal, urinary, and other organ systems[2]. - **Fenpiverinium:** an anticholinergic agent that relieves smooth muscle spasm by inhibiting muscarinic acetylcholine receptors on smooth muscle, leading to relaxation by blocking neural impulses[2][4][6]. This combination is primarily used for quick symptomatic relief of **acute pain associated with spasms** of smooth muscles, most commonly in the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts. The three agents act synergistically: ketorolac provides strong pain relief, while pitofenone and fenpiverinium reduce muscle spasm and associated pain.
