Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kiltaz is a branded generic version of ketorolac tromethamine, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) developed and marketed by Avogadro. It belongs to the heteroaryl acetic acid derivative class and is primarily indicated for the short-term (up to 5 days) management of moderately severe acute pain, typically in post-operative settings where analgesia at the opioid level is required. Ketorolac works by non-selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. By reducing prostaglandin levels, Kiltaz effectively provides analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. It is commonly administered as a 10 mg oral tablet.
