Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketraline (also known as Keteling) is an approved oral combination therapy developed and manufactured by Jiangxi Hengkang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of cough, asthma, and chronic bronchitis. It is formulated as tablets containing a combination of Ficus microcarpa dry extract (a traditional Chinese herbal medicine) and chlorpheniramine maleate (a synthetic antihistamine). Ficus microcarpa dry extract provides antitussive, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory effects, while chlorpheniramine maleate acts as a histamine H1 receptor antagonist to alleviate allergic symptoms and reduce airway secretions. Together, these components work synergistically to relieve cough and respiratory discomfort.
