Overview
Keverprazan is a novel small molecule potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed to inhibit gastric acid secretion by competitively binding to the potassium site of the gastric H+,K+-ATPase enzyme. This mechanism provides rapid, strong, and sustained suppression of gastric acid production and offers an alternative to traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Keverprazan has demonstrated non-inferior efficacy compared with lansoprazole in clinical trials for duodenal ulcer and erosive esophagitis. It is approved in China for the treatment of duodenal ulcer and reflux esophagitis. The drug is also being investigated as part of dual therapy regimens for Helicobacter pylori infection[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
