Kewei is a brand of oseltamivir phosphate, a neuraminidase inhibitor developed and marketed by YiChang HEC ChangJiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is a small molecule oral medication used for the treatment and prevention of influenza. The drug works by inhibiting the neuraminidase enzyme on the surface of the influenza virus, which prevents the release of progeny virus particles from infected host cells, thereby limiting the spread of the infection. Kewei is available in both capsule and granule formulations, with the granules specifically targeting the pediatric market in China. The company is notable for being the only manufacturer of oseltamivir phosphate granules in the PRC market.
