KeyGen-CDH17 is a therapeutic program developed by Beijing KeyGen Biotech that includes both a monoclonal antibody (mAb) and an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting Cadherin-17 (CDH17). CDH17, also known as liver-intestine cadherin (LI-cadherin), is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule that is highly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract. While its expression is restricted in normal tissues, it is significantly upregulated in various gastrointestinal malignancies, including colorectal, gastric, and pancreatic cancers. The KeyGen-CDH17 mAb is designed to bind specifically to these tumor cells, while the ADC version utilizes the antibody's specificity to deliver a cytotoxic payload directly to the cancer cells. Both modalities are currently in preclinical development for the treatment of solid tumors, particularly those of gastrointestinal origin.
