KFRX05 is a novel small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor being developed by KeifeRx for the treatment of neurodegenerative and immune-related diseases. Its primary mechanisms of action include inhibition of leucine-rich repeat serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 (LRRK2), general protein tyrosine kinases, and c-Kit (stem cell growth factor receptor). Preclinical studies suggest that it can penetrate the brain, induce autophagy to clear toxic proteins implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and dementia, and modulate both peripheral and central immunity by targeting mast cells. This dual activity positions it as a potential therapy for conditions like Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD), mastocytosis, urticaria, mast cell activation disorders, Alzheimer's disease, ALS, and other inflammatory or immune-mediated diseases[1][2][3]. The drug is currently in preclinical development.
