Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KG013 is an investigational, half-life-extended, fully human monoclonal antibody designed to target A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand (APRIL). Developed by Kaigene and licensed globally to Celltrion, KG013 is designed for long-acting subcutaneous administration to treat IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and other IgA- and IgM-mediated autoimmune diseases. By blocking the APRIL signaling pathway, which is involved in the survival and function of antibody-producing B cells and plasma cells, KG013 selectively suppresses the production of pathogenic IgA and IgM antibodies. It is engineered to offer enhanced potency and prolonged activity compared to first-generation therapies, potentially allowing for lower doses and longer dosing intervals.
