Overview
KH601 is an investigational oncolytic adenovirus therapy developed by Chengdu Kanghong Biotech for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It is a recombinant human adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) engineered to selectively replicate within tumor cells, leading to direct cell lysis (oncolysis). This process not only destroys the infected cancer cells but also promotes the release of tumor-associated antigens and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), which can activate the host's immune system to recognize and attack remaining tumor cells. KH601 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to determine its safety, tolerability, and preliminary anti-tumor activity when administered via intratumoral injection.
