KH901

KH901 is a conditionally replicating, tumor-selective oncolytic recombinant adenovirus engineered to selectively replicate in and lyse telomerase-positive tumor cells. It has been further armed to express granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), stimulating local immune responses against tumor cells. KH901 is primarily administered by intratumoral injection and has been studied in cancers such as head and neck cancer (including nasopharyngeal carcinoma) and hepatocellular carcinoma. It is in phase 2 development. Animal and human studies indicate selective retention at tumor sites, induction of GM-CSF expression, and enhanced antitumor efficacy, especially in combination with chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-fluorouracil[1][2][3][6][7][8].
