KH917 is a monoclonal antibody biologic being developed by Chengdu Kanghong Biotech (specifically through its subsidiary Beijing Kanghong Biological Medicine) as a biosimilar candidate to ixekizumab. It targets interleukin-17A (IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a central role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including plaque psoriasis. By binding to IL-17A, KH917 inhibits its interaction with the IL-17 receptor, thereby suppressing the downstream inflammatory signaling pathways that lead to skin cell overproliferation and inflammation. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation to compare its pharmacokinetic profile, safety, and immunogenicity to the reference product, ixekizumab.
