Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KHIRIOX is a full-spectrum medical cannabis extract developed by Khiron Life Sciences. The KHIRIOX 12/14 formulation contains approximately 12 mg/ml of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and 14 mg/ml of cannabidiol (CBD) in a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) carrier oil. [5-2, 3] It is derived from hybrid cannabis genetics, combining properties of different strains, and is produced using CO2 extraction. [5-1, 2, 7] The active ingredients, THC and CBD, act on the body's endocannabinoid system. KHIRIOX is primarily used for the management of chronic pain and has been shown to effectively reduce pain perception in a study of 2,112 patients. [1-9, 9] It is available as an unlicensed medication in several countries, including the UK, Germany, Colombia, Peru, and Brazil. [1-2, 4]
