KHK2805 is a novel monoclonal antibody targeting folate receptor 1 (FOLR1, also known as FR alpha), which is highly expressed in various solid tumors including ovarian, non-small cell lung, and endometrial cancers. Developed by Kyowa Hakko Kirin using their proprietary AccretaMab technology, KHK2805 is engineered to exhibit enhanced antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) activities. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that treatment with the anti-folate pemetrexed can upregulate FOLR1 expression on cancer cells, thereby sensitizing them to KHK2805 and enhancing its anti-tumor efficacy. Safety studies in cynomolgus monkeys have shown a tolerable profile at high doses.
