KIB-PIA H5N1 influenza vaccine

KIB-PIA H5N1 influenza vaccine is an inactivated monovalent vaccine designed to provide protection against the H5N1 strain of avian influenza. Developed by KM Biologics (formerly Kaketsuken) in collaboration with Japanese clinical research institutions like the National Hospital Organization Mie National Hospital, the vaccine is part of Japan's pandemic preparedness strategy. It is administered via intramuscular injection and is evaluated for its ability to elicit protective immune responses, specifically hemagglutination inhibition (HI) and neutralizing antibodies. Clinical studies, including Phase II/III trials, have assessed the safety and immunogenicity of 5 mcg and 15 mcg doses in healthy adult populations.
