Kidmin

Kidmin is a specialized 7.2% intravenous amino acid solution developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory for patients with acute or chronic renal failure. The formulation is specifically designed to address the nutritional requirements of kidney failure patients, particularly those undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis who experience hypoproteinemia or malnutrition. It contains a balanced mixture of essential and non-essential amino acids, with a high concentration of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs)—L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine—which function to inhibit muscle protein breakdown and stimulate muscle protein synthesis. As a parenteral nutrition product, Kidmin provides the necessary building blocks for protein metabolism without targeting a specific receptor or enzyme in the traditional pharmacological sense.
