Kidofen Duo

Kidofen Duo is a prescription pediatric oral suspension developed by Aflofarm Farmacja Polska that combines two active ingredients: ibuprofen (100 mg) and paracetamol (125 mg) per 5 ml. It is indicated for the short-term treatment of fever and mild to moderate pain of various origins (including post-operative pain) in children aged 2 years and older, particularly when monotherapy with paracetamol or ibuprofen is insufficient. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic, with a mechanism of action thought to involve the inhibition of COX-3 in the central nervous system. The product is marketed as the first such combination in a pediatric suspension form in Europe.
