Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KIDPAREN is a total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solution developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory for patients with chronic kidney disease who require fluid restriction. Approved in Japan in September 2024, it is a kit formulation supplied in a 1,050 mL 3-chamber bag that combines amino acids, glucose, electrolytes (excluding potassium and phosphorus), and multivitamins (conforming to the FDA 2000 formulation). By providing 1,500 kcal in a reduced volume, KIDPAREN satisfies the energy and protein requirements of chronic kidney disease patients while minimizing fluid intake and avoiding the risk of hyperkalemia and hyperphosphatemia.
