KIF20A-10-66 is a 10-amino acid epitope peptide derived from the kinesin family member 20A (KIF20A) protein, specifically identified as an HLA-A*2402-restricted tumor-associated antigen. KIF20A is a member of the kinesin superfamily that plays a critical role in cytokinesis and is significantly overexpressed in various malignancies, including pancreatic, gastric, and lung cancers, while remaining largely absent in normal adult tissues. The KIF20A-10-66 peptide is designed to be presented by HLA-A*2402 molecules on the surface of cancer cells, where it can be recognized by specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). By inducing a targeted CTL response, the peptide serves as a cancer vaccine candidate aimed at eliminating KIF20A-positive tumor cells. It has been investigated in early-phase clinical trials, often as part of multi-peptide vaccine regimens developed by OncoTherapy Science.
