Overview

SYN-53 is a multi-strain probiotic food supplement developed by Synformulas GmbH, marketed under the brand name KIJIMEA K53. It contains a diverse blend of 53 selected bacterial strains designed to modulate the gut microbiome and address the immunological link between gut dysbiosis and allergic diseases. The product is specifically indicated for the management of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (ARC), particularly symptoms triggered by grass pollen. In double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials using an allergen exposure chamber (AEC) model, SYN-53 demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing allergy symptom scores compared to placebo. Its therapeutic effect is attributed to the high diversity and concentration of its constituent microculture strains.
