Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kimara-F is an orally administered fixed-dose combination product developed by Kims Pharmaceutical for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It combines leflunomide, a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) that inhibits mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) to suppress pyrimidine synthesis and lymphocyte proliferation, with celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that reduces prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and inflammation. This combination aims to provide synergistic therapeutic benefits by simultaneously targeting the underlying autoimmune pathology and the associated inflammatory pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
