Overview

KIN-7136 is an investigational, next-generation, brain-penetrant small molecule inhibitor of MEK (mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase) developed by Kinnate Biopharma. It was designed to target MAPK-driven advanced solid tumors, specifically focusing on patients with non-small cell lung cancer and those with brain metastases. Although the FDA cleared its Investigational New Drug (IND) application in August 2023 for a Phase 1 trial (KN-3603) as both a monotherapy and in combination with the pan-RAF inhibitor exarafenib, Kinnate Biopharma announced the discontinuation of its development in September 2023 as part of a strategic reprioritization plan.
