Overview

KIN-INFL is a preclinical-stage small molecule Caspase-1 inhibitor being developed by Kintsugi Therapeutics for the treatment of inflammasome-driven diseases, including autoinflammatory diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. As a peptide-derived inhibitor, KIN-INFL interacts with Caspase-1 via a reactive warhead to inhibit its protease activity. This inhibition blocks the processing and secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1 beta (IL-1beta) and interleukin-18 (IL-18), as well as the induction of pyroptosis, a form of lytic cell death. The therapeutic candidate is currently in preclinical development.
