Overview

KIND-015 is a canine-specific monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Originally developed by Kindred Biosciences and now part of the Elanco Animal Health pipeline, the drug targets the interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13) signaling pathways. These cytokines are central mediators of Type 2 (Th2) inflammation, which is a primary driver of the allergic response, skin barrier dysfunction, and pruritus (itching) associated with canine allergic skin diseases. By inhibiting these pathways—likely through the neutralization of the cytokines or by blocking the shared interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4Rα)—KIND-015 aims to provide a targeted biologic therapy similar in mechanism to the human drug dupilumab. It is intended as a long-acting alternative to Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors and other systemic immunosuppressive treatments.
