Overview

KINE-501C is an investigational peptide therapeutic developed by Kine Science, designed to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) and Parkinson's disease. The drug's primary mechanism of action involves the modulation of microglial cells, the resident immune cells of the brain. Specifically, KINE-501C is engineered to promote the polarization of microglia from a pro-inflammatory (M1) state to an anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective (M2) state. By facilitating this phenotypic shift, the therapy aims to mitigate chronic neuroinflammation, enhance the clearance of pathological protein aggregates, and support neuronal survival, thereby addressing the underlying neurodegenerative processes characteristic of alpha-synucleinopathies.
