Kinisoquin is an orally administered small molecule antithrombotic drug candidate being developed by Quercis Pharma AG for the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in cancer patients, specifically those with pancreatic cancer. The formulation consists of isoquercetin (a quercetin glycoside) combined with vitamins B3 and C to optimize bioavailability and stability. Kinisoquin functions as a multi-target therapeutic, primarily inhibiting Protein Disulfide Isomerase (PDI), an enzyme essential for thrombus formation. It also modulates other pathways including VEGF, Tissue Factor, PD-L1, and TMEM176. Unlike standard anticoagulants, it prevents coagulation within the vascular system without significantly increasing the risk of bleeding.
