KIO015 is an injectable medical device formulated with carboxymethyl chitosan, a high-purity, non-animal biopolymer derived from fungal sources (KiOmedine). Developed by KiOmed Pharma, it is intended for the intradermal treatment of skin defects associated with aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and dehydrated skin. KIO015 functions as a soft-tissue filler that provides immediate physical correction while also offering antioxidant properties and sustained skin hydration. Clinical studies, including split-face and split-body trials, have demonstrated its safety and efficacy in improving skin elasticity, firmness, and hydration compared to non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based devices.
