Overview
Kisspeptin 112-121 is a synthetic peptide that mimics the action of endogenous kisspeptin. It acts on the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R/GPR54) to stimulate gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion, which subsequently triggers the release of reproductive hormones like luteinizing hormone (LH). In the hypothalamus, it works alongside neurokinin B and dynorphin in KNDy neurons to regulate reproductive function. Originally identified as a metastasis suppressor, kisspeptin is now recognized as a key peptide linking metabolism and reproduction.
