Overview

KIV-318 is an investigational in vivo chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), currently under development for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Unlike traditional CAR-T therapies that require an ex vivo manufacturing process—involving the collection, genetic modification, and re-infusion of a patient's own T cells—KIV-318 is designed to generate CAR-T cells directly within the patient's body following injection. By targeting BCMA, a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells, the therapy aims to selectively identify and eliminate myeloma cells. KIV-318 is being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial sponsored by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital in China.
