Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KizaVie (Liposomal Transcrocetin or L-TC) is a novel liposomal formulation of trans sodium crocetinate (TSC) developed by LEAF4Life. It is designed to enhance oxygen diffusion in the plasma and interstitium, specifically targeting tumor hypoxia, which is a common cause of resistance to radiation and chemotherapy. By normalizing tumor vasculature and providing a transient increase in tumor oxygenation, KizaVie acts as a radiosensitizer, making hypoxic tumor cells more susceptible to radiation therapy. It is currently being evaluated in the Phase III THREE-GLEES trial, sponsored by the Institut de cancérologie Strasbourg Europe, for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma in combination with hypofractionated radiotherapy and temozolomide.
