Overview

KJ-C2112 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by CARsgen Therapeutics, with initial development originating from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This biologic therapy is engineered to dual-target both the wild-type Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR, ErbB1) and its tumor-specific variant III (EGFRvIII). By expressing these specific CARs, the patient's T cells are redirected to identify and eliminate malignant cells overexpressing these receptors. EGFR and EGFRvIII are frequently implicated in the progression of various solid tumors, particularly glioblastoma and other epithelial-derived cancers. KJ-C2112 is currently in the preclinical stage of development, representing a targeted immunotherapy approach aimed at addressing cancers with high EGFR expression or specific mutations.
