Overview

KJ-C2635 is an experimental in vivo chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by CARsgen Therapeutics for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other GPC3-positive solid tumors. Unlike traditional ex vivo CAR-T therapies that require leukapheresis and external cell engineering, KJ-C2635 is designed to generate CAR-T cells directly within the patient's body using a viral or non-viral delivery vector. The therapy targets Glypican-3 (GPC3), a cell-surface oncofetal proteoglycan that is highly overexpressed in liver cancer but has limited expression in normal adult tissues. By engineering T cells in situ to express a GPC3-specific CAR, the therapy aims to provide a more accessible and scalable treatment option for liver cancer patients. As of 2026, the program is in the pre-clinical stage of development.
